I have a network and I want to share the printer, this Windows 2000 PC doesnt have the printer but I assume I have to install the printers driver on here?

Anyway thats the problem, I cant. When I go to Start/Settings/Printers/Add Printer I get "Printer Operation cannot continue due to lack of resources. The print subsystem is unavailable" Now, im sure a while back I disabled something in 2000, becauise I thought i'd never be using a printer on this machine. I thought mayb it was a Service I changed, but cannot see anything to do with printing. What could be the problem here?

Cheers

Alex

You say you have a network. You have to share out the printer first on the PC it is connected to. Then you can add (access) the printer from the shared source. You must give it a shared name so you can find and share that printer. And remember, the PC that the printer is connected to must always be "on" and logged on in order to print remotely from any on the other PC's on the network.

Thanks for the info, I was able to share the printer successfully and it works well.

Now just need to know how to share the net connection!!
