I have Win2k Pro on one box, Win2k Server on another. I can see and, sort
of, share my files between the two just fine (well, not really). My problem is this:

Accessing shared files on the Server box from my Pro box, the files are not
able to be opened. For executables, I get "\\Win2kServer\folder\*.exe is
not a valid Win32 application." Trying to access some wav and mp3 files, I
get "This is not a wave-form audio file"

Vise-versa, accessing files on Pro from Server work just fine. I've
installed apps and everything from the Pro box onto the Server. Just can't do it from the Server on Pro.
Nothing is valid. Even the exe icons are just the generic exe icon. What
gives?

Make sure the account you use when logging onto the Professional machine has access rights to the files and folders on the Server. You might just hop on the server and go to the properties and permissions of the hard drive and add your Professional account with FULL access....

I'm pretty sure I've done that, but I'll double check. I've added Administrators. Actually, I think I let Everyone have access to no avail. I know I tried to add users off my Pro box and got an error message. We'll see. Thanks.
