I need driver for BJC 5100 printer for Windows 2000. The driver from Canon site is not working. During install, it errored out as spoolsv.exe has generated error and will be closed by Windows. I just can't install the driver for Windows 2000. Any idea? Thanks. Andy.

You have to install the drivers that are on the driver disk that came with the unit first, then upgrade the drivers with the drivers offered on the Canon website.
I had a similar issue with my C-555. The drivers on the website did not work. I was told to do as I have told you. My unit works now.

au contraire. I downloaded the W2K drivers from canon and installed them without any probs at all..... did not install drivers from disc as W2000 wasn't around when I bought my unit.....

I have a CANON BJC 5100 printer and my computer runs under Windows XP; it’s well known that canon refuse to develop a driver for this OS. I tried to use NT 4.0 / Win 2000 drivers unsuccessfully until I tried a little change in BIOS: I set the entry “parallel port mode” to SPP mode instead of ECP or PPP. All functions of the printer works except the “head align” and “cleaning heads”.
