Cannot view thumbnails

For some reason I can no longer view any thumnails of pictures in Windows Explorer. All that shows up is the frame that the thumbnail is supposed to be in with the image viewing applications logo. How do I get the thumbnails back

open the "my pictures folder"...up top click on VIEW select thumbnails..

Thanks for your response, but that is already selected. The actual frame of the thumbnail is shown, but there is no picture in it other than the application logo that is used to view the picture when the thumbnail is double-clicked.

I had the same problem with windows ME. To fix it with ME i had to change a registry entry in REGEDIT.exe in order for thumbnails to be enable but I'm sure if it's the same with Win 2000. I can't remember the exact url name were i got this information from but i found it in microsofts support website.
