ok i have a dual boot system - 2 seperate hd's .
win98 on drive c - maxtor 13gig
win2k on drive D - maxtor 4gig
i have a asus p2b motherboard (440bx)
with a diamond monster fusion (voodoo banshee) video adapter
with 192 megs pc 100 sdram

both worked fine until i recently upgraded my p2 350
to a p3 800mhz.The p2b is rated on the asus website to p3 800mhz no prob.

yes i flashed the bios correctly

the problem is whenever i open .jpg files in win98 , i lose control of the mouse, and the
screen freezes with some really weird stuff like its streached in places and refreshes
every 2 or 3
seconds -ctrl alt delete does not work , i have to reboot , everything else works fine,
3dfx games , aplications etc.. only crashes when i open jpg's (with any application)

the same thing happens in win2k (but not as often) everything else works.
also if i open my favorites in ie5 it dies with loss of mouse controll and chunks
of applications all over the screen

ok im thinking its the OS or internet explorer so i reinstall both. no help
i tried uninstalling all usb devices and mice.no help
ive tried 2 differant mice (ps2 and usb). no help
ive tried swapping memory in every combo. no help

can you help?

note: it all worked fine untill i flashed the bios and replaced cpu.

is it a bios setting that wasnt there before the flash? i dont know mabey its
agp apature size but i cant get any reliable info on this...

In the BIOS:
Make sure your AGP video is set at 2/3 speed of BUS which should be 100MHz, not 66MHz.
