Comment:

When I open Word, Excel, etc., and click on one of the files that I have previously created, I get the message, "This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action." Also, on Peachtree, I get the message, "peachw.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows." Does anyone out there have an answer?

Try using the office repair tool, if it doesn't work reinstall office.

try unreging the exe for each app in office and re reging
open a run cmd browse to the EXE
eg "D:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\WINWORD.EXE" /unregserver
to register the app back click run same as before and re move the un eg
"D:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\WINWORD.EXE"/regserver
