Hello All,
I am running Win2K on my computer. I turned my computer off the other day and then back on. Now for some reason whenever I try to log in I get the following message:
Windows cannot load the locally stored profile. Contact your network administrator.
DETAIL - An I/O operation initiated by the registry failed unrecoverably. The
registry could not read in, or write out, or flush, one of the files that
contain the system's image of the registryThen when I click on the continue button I get this message:
Windows cannot load the profile and is logging you on with a temporary profile. Changes you make to this profile will be lost when you log off.
It sounds like there is a permissions or registry problem here but I am not sure. If anyone can help me out with this I would greatly appreciate it.
David

Choose F8 when botting into windows 2000. then choose Last known profile. This will load the information from the last succesful logon you made.

Since I have already logged on once as the Administrator since the problem occurred, the last good logon in no longer with the problem profile. Any suggestions in this instance?
RE: slimming down profile. How do I do that, or better yet, avoid that from happening - if that is the culprit?
Joe

Hey folks,
Im having the same problem as the above...
"Windows cannot load the locally stored profile. Contact your network administrator.
DETAIL - An I/O operation...."
However by looking at the post dates above co-incidentally this problem has arised around the same date as the rest of your above problems....strange uh?
Ive tried everything, even re-installing windows and slimming down my profile size, however the problem still arises, if anyone has any further idea's on how to rectify this problem PLLLLLLLLLEEEEEASE mail me or post a reply as I need to access a specified profile asap
Cheers - Paul ;)

I have had this problem when we were using Citrix. Had to go into user manager( for domain), choose my name, then click on profiles. Check your local profile settings. I had a citrix logon setup for terminal server home directory.
