SP4 / IE5.0 The computer connects to the internet fine, it displays a connection speed balloon in the task tray. But when i click on internet explorer, it seems to take ages before it says "This page cannot be displayed". There is no firewall software or anti-virus software installed. So i cannot explain why it will not display web pages. Could anyone explain whats going on and how i might go about going about a solution. I tried using windows update and i wasn't able to go to the windows update site. I tried downloading the full version of IE6 from another computer and could only ge the 480k file. Running this one on the windows 2000 computer, gave message "connecting to sites" before eventually saying there was something wrong with the network settings and it couldn't connect to the site. I did contact microsoft, but needless to say, they didn't reply.
