Win2K will not let me delete the registry key for Office 2K after it is Un-installed. It is keeping me from being able to install Office 97. I tried deleting it in regedit(while logged on as adminstrator) but it errors out saying "error deleting key". I tried exporting the registry and deleting the key in the exported file and re-importing the registry. But is won't allow the import. I can manipulate all keys except for the HKLM:Software/Microsoft/Office/ and the subkeys under that key. Is there another way?

Try booting up in safe mod then delete it.

This is what I found out about Office2K. When you install it on a Win2K Pro machine. It sets the permissions on its registry entries one level higher than your account. If you are logged on as an administrator it sets permissions to read only on everything for every level of logon. I ran regedt32 and went to the registry entries and set full control for adminstrators on all Office2K entries and all is well.
