Comment: I have a folder that's empty that cannot be deleted. It's in my documents. When I try to delete the folder I get - Cannot delete file: Cannot read from the source file or disk - How can I delete this? When I try to click on it, it says that the folder has been removed. It won't let me paste anything into it either, nor rename the folder. ?????

Reply: (edit)FrontPage created the folder when I was playing around with it. I think maybe I deleted the files inside the folder but not sure. It won't let me do anything to the folder.

Reply: (edit)The file name is Russell's Links...... For some reason I put a bunch of dots after my name. Any suggestions on how to make it delete.

Reply: (edit)Right-click on the file, go to Properties. If the Read-only box is checked (at the bottom of the properties dialog box), uncheck it. Then try deleting the file again. Let me know what happens.

Reply: (edit)This works for me. When a reboot doesn't do the trick (clear MEM)go to the old friend, "the DOSPrompt" Goto the directory and use the "Del [filename] /P" command. If, for some odd reason this is not playing ball use the "Erase [filename] /P" command instead. That should get rid of the pesky file! M
