Ok I was trying to find a install code for win95, i lost my case. But when I was at the warez site looking, some files installed on my desktop. I try to place them in the recycling bin but I get a warning saying inter explorer crashed and an error log will be created. i try opeing the files and get the same message. I then tried to move the files at least to another folder so that ppl dont see that there is porn on my desktop but it gives me a message sAying that either the file name is incorrect or to long. I no thi is the price u pay for going to warez sites, but how do I get rid of these files? Thanx, Bill

Right click the file and then uncheck "read only"box . or look around in the properties for something that is keeping you from deleting it.

I just remembered something else. Hit Ctrl+Alt+Del and then on "Task Manager"
on the middle tab start closing programs, starting at the bottom, until you can delete the folder/file in question.
I remember this happening to me once, and it could not be deleted because the program it represented was running. You have to turn off that program.

well I tried right clicking, it gave me the mesage saying explorer.exe has caused a fault and a error log will be created. Then I tried to close explorer.exe well then it closed my desktop, so I started exploere.exe back up and esktop was back so now Iduno what to do??? Thanx, Bill

Don't close Explorer or any other programs that Windows is using to operate with.
Close all the other programs that are listed in the Task Manager under the "Processes"tab.
Then go to the desktop and delete this folder

Porn on your desktop? Tut tut. I'm somewhat shocked, but I'll do my best to soldier gamely on. The best way to go about this may be through a DOS box. Yes, it's true! Swallow your pride and open that window. Use the CD (directory-name) command to make your way to \Documents And Settings\(Your Username)\Desktop. You need to enclose paths including spaces in double quotes, e.g CD "C:\Documents And Settings" .Then remove any attributes, like read-only, that may be preventing you from removing the file using the command Attrib -r (filename) then del (filename) (The spaces are necessary)
