cannot change icon spacing

Sytem hangs when icon spacing is changed. What program handles this process within Display Settings on the WIN2000 screen?

Does it hang when you try to move the icons w/ the mouse or when you try to rearrange them by a right click?

I believe he means when you bring up the display properties->appearance dialogue. You can change the horizontal/vertical icon spacing under the item drop-down menu.
Rundll32.exe is the process that runs when you look in the task manager.
I've run across this once. I don't remember what I did though. You can try reinstalling IE.

Since IE is part of the windows shell, repairing it usually fixes desktop related issues.
