Hello everybody,
Can someone help me ?
I recently installed two OS's on my PC
1.Windows 2000 Advanced Server (C:\)
2.Windows XP Pro SP2 (D:\)Both my installations are running smooth via multibooting, but I want to apply SP4 in Windows 2000 Srv installation and I'm getting errors, so the SP4 installation stops!
i got an error say that "Cannot open METABASE, iis or something " it stops and says that not all of the files were updated so I might have problems with Windows 2000 Srv instllation.I restarted Win2000Server and everything was quite intact.
but what should I do ? I want to install SP4!!!
Any help appreciated !!!
Thanks in advance!!!"-Doctor, before the surgery, you haven't got any beard

Go to MS and I think you'll find they dropped iis in all server operating systems and service packs. They use NET now. SP4 will install just fine in W2000 Adv Server, ignore the iis note!

But Dick, after the note I receive the installation of SP4 cancels itself...
I'll go to MS and try to find something...
Thanks guys! If you figure something else let me know!!
Thanks again!"-Doctor, before the surgery, you haven't got any beard

Try going into "Services" and Disable iis. Then try installing SP4. This is how I got SP4 to install in W2000 Adv Svr.

I'll try it and inform you...
Thank you guys for your interest!

I disabled iis and run SP4 again...
It says that c:\ is corrupted, I run chkdsk and now Windows 2000 Server wont start... (!!!!) I will repair the installation today...and see what it happens...
Damn it!"-Doctor, before the surgery, you haven't got any beard
