can not get it to detect correct modem

im running 2k pro and i have a telepath x2 modem (isa) and a lucent winmodem (pci) i use for dual mode i can get 2k to detect the winmodem fine it does everything on its own correct but when it comes to the telepath it detects a 3com modem and wont work ive tried updating modem (no go) ive tried disableing the 3com then installing telepath drivers (no go ) ive tried removing all system devices and going in safe mode before detection and installing the corect drivers gues what (no go ) im probably missing something really small and simple but could someone please save me from this insaninity....

First thing, make sure your modem WORKS with Windows 2000. Check the manufacturer's website or your manual to find out if it's Windows 2000 compliant. If it is, download the latest Windows 2000 drivers for it and go in and Uninstall the modem and reboot. When it finds the modem manually tell it to use those drivers, or else go in and run the Add Hardware wizard and manually choose them there.....

unfortunatly i allready tried downloading the latest drivers and there is no mention of win 2k complience or not. I have allready tried the latest drivers the real problem areises because even when i uninstall the other modem and install the drivers i want the system still picks it up as a 3 com modem in device manager even thought the driver is for telepath and all telepath traits are exhibited so i cant get it to work i quess what im looking for is does someone know of a reg switch to disable all AUTOMATIC hardware detection so that i can manually install this hunk of garbage in peace
