What is the source of the music? If it is already on some other media you should be able to connect line out to line in on your computer.

You must have a mic to record audio that is local. You can use line in from guitars or midi and such for other musical instruments.

You may have a mic already if you have a web cam.

Some places offer portable recorders that one can use to save to files then transfer via card or usb cable to their computers. Some professional musicians use them for many tasks.

Hang up and live.

You are on the Windows 2000 forum yet your spec says Windows 7 - which is it?

If you are trying to record music from your sound card or off the net then there are some freebie programs around which do this. I use HDOgg recorder but it only says it is suitable for Windows 95/98/2000/XP. It might work on Win 7 but I've never tried.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
