Hello;
The motherboard of my old computer broke, so I bought a new computer that comes with windows XP professional. I want to install my old hard drive, which has windows 2000 server, into my new computer because I have all I need for work in that drive. My question is. Can I do that without losing the information on my old hard drive? I also will like to be able to boot for any of the hard drive too.

I will appreciate any help.
Maria Elisa

You can add your old HDD to your new system and still access your stored data on that HDD.
Now to boot your server, i will advice you to repair your installation on your old HDD, it might solve the problem.

The old hard drive will NOT have the correct drivers for the bew motherboard. It may or may not boot up.

Install it as a second drive and boot with the new drive that came with the system and just acess the old data as needed.
