bsod installing on my MSI laptop

Specs: Windows 2000 pro, 2100 duo core
Bought a MSI ms-163k laptop with a blank 160-gig hard drive, from a computer store.

The BSOD comes up before the first re-boot. The "inaccessible boot device" thing comes up, no getting around it. I'm guessing it is the sata-hard-drive problem.

Seeing it came with no OS, and I have a legal Windows 2000 pro, I thought I'd try it.

How do I get around this problem....

You need to find out what is causing the BSOD before you go further. Download Ultimate Boot CD and run memtest first.

Read the turorials and FAQ's for instructions on how to burn the image to a CD.

What was the exact error message you got when the machine blue screened?
