I changed my system boot partition's permissions to delete "Everyone" and add "Users" with the modify permissions and "Administrators" with Full Control. I also changed the owner of the volume to "Administrators." This computer is using windows 2k pro and is on a domain. The computer then locked up and during the startup the computer shows a blue screen of death with the following error:

STOP: c000021a {Fatal System Error}
The Session Manager Initialization system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0xc0000022 (0x00000000 0x00000000).

The error message continues with the usual "check to make sure your hardware is installed correctly and functioning properly" stuff. Does anyone know what I did wrong?

I had the same thing happen to me, luckily i had another hard drive which i made the master hard drive after opening the computer and switching the cords. the broken hard drive wasnt plugged in. then i took my handy win2k install disk and installed it on my 2nd hard drive. after that was over i plugged in my broken drive as slave and restarted computer. in win2k on the non broken drive i went into my computer and looked for the broken drive. luckily it was found, then i right clicked on it went into security tab and added everyone the allowed everyone full control. after all this was over i switched the drives so the broken one was master and the non broken one was slave. i booted it up and SHAZAAM, it worked.
