I recently upgraded this pc to Win2K (was Win98SE). Everything was working fine, till today. When I attempted to go online via dial-up, dial-up networking dials out and connects, but the browsers and email program can't seem to connect to any sites. The connection speed is pretty good (28K on a 56K modem). Neither Firefox nor IE seem to be able to find or connect to any websites. Thunderbird fails to find the mail server. I'm able to readily get online with my Linux box, which is on the same line, with no problems so I know the connextion is good and my ISP is up to full capacity. The only change I made to this system was when I installed TurboTax. TurboTax insisted on upgrading me to IE6 (from IE5). Does anyone have a clue as to what's going on? I have checked "Always dial my default connection" under the "Connection" tab in the IE properties dialog box, which I usually have to do to get online. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I found the answer myself here.

Thanks anyway. I hope this helps anyone else who might have this problem.
