randomly, but probably 3/4 times, when the win2k boot screen it up around half, the computer will just automatically reset. i havent installed anything recently and it worked before, but now it wont. i thought it was the bios problem, because i have another win2k adv srv as a dualboot and same thing happened, so i changed it back to the default settings, but still no luck. this is the bootlog i ah, i found out the problem, apparently it was the power supply. i had a blackout like couple days before i noticd this problem. i thought it was the drivers so you might want to check that out. or maybe your computer cant handle it, i tried winxp, but i couldnt get it to work because the videocard wasnt good enough or something =\

I have the same issue: bootup unsuccessful. What I know: it is not a hardware problem. Description: My laptop has 2 OS: - Windows 2000 professional English version - Windows 2000 professional French version I installed Norton 2004 trial version in Oct 2003 on English OS. The trial period expired last week. Lat Thursday, I had bootup problem. The error message was: STOP: c000026c (unable to load Device Driver) \SystemRoot\System32\DRIVERS\ACPIEC.sys device driver could not be loaded. Error status was 0xc0000221 But, after renewing bootup operation, the boot was successful (for the last time). But, since, any bootup with English OS version is ended with the above error message while bootup is successful using French OS. My assumption: this issue is related to Norton 2004. Because the French version continue to function without any problem. After renaming all files/directory related to Norton (nav*, norton*, symantec*), I reboot the laptop using English OS and I got a new error message: STOP: c000026c (unable to load Device Driver) \SystemRoot\System32\DRIVERS\MSGPC.sys device driver could not be loaded. Error status was 0xc000012f This was my last attempt. Any comment/idea/suggestion/input is welcome
