Comment: Dear all I have a PC, on my HDD I have 2 Partitions . One with Win2000 and the other Partition with Win XP. Now I format the partition from Win XP with the Diskdrivemanagment from Win 2000. The XP Partition is now clean. But there is one little problem . When I boot the PC, in the Bootmanager there is still standing Win XP. I can still choose Win XP . How can I take this away from the Bootmanager?????????????????? Best Regards

Reply: (edit)Edit the boot.ini. Remove the stuff there for windows XP. Change the delay timer to chose a O/S to 1.

Reply: (edit)I'd follow Jinx's advice if you are not comfortable editing the boot.ini. It will accomplish the same thing. If you want to edit the boot.ini, it is in the root of c: and it is hidden. You'll have to set the properties of Explorer to show hidden files.

Reply: (edit)The boot.ini file is a hiden file on the root of C. opem a command prompt. Start ---> Run --> CMD type in cd\ hit enter You should now be at the C:> type in edit boot.ini hit enter This will open the boot.ini in a DOS edit screen.
