Specs: Windows 7
I am trying to install windows 2000 on a dell latitude cp. I don't have a floppy drive available. I get "unable to open aspi manager! aspidisk.sys is not installed" when I try to load the w2k cd. Is there a bootable cd available to accomplish this?

It sounds like your CD may not be bootable, or *properly* bootable.

On a bootable Windows 2000 CD, NTDETECT.COM will initialize and you should receive the message, "Setup is inspecting your computer's hardware configuration...", after which the process will continue.

Does your Dell use a SCSI type hard drive? Post the full model of the computer.

Win2000/XP can be modified/updated using a process called slip streaming. This is a way to integrate new files into the files currently on your CD.

Not sure why you are receiving that message. Could be due to the presence of an unknown hard drive type or possibly due to a hard drive larger than 137GB.

Has that computer previously run Win2000? What SP is integrated into your CD?

nliteos can be used to integrate any third party drivers you may need to add and also to add later service packs to Win2000.

For further help provide more info and answers to the above questions.

Get nliteos at the link below.

If you need SP4 for Win2000 go to the second link below.
