i recently booted my windows 2000 computer with a 98 boot disk now every time it boots up it says boot failure system halted. However if i insert the windows 2000 cd when it says press a key to boot u don't hit anything and it boots fine? How do i fix this.

I would try to reinstall 2K as a repair.

Boot with the 2000 CD and choose Repair at the setup screen... it'll give you the option to reinstall or repair... so you choose repair and let it take of the problem.
