dear helper I had windows 2000 on my pc i formated it i installed windows 2000 back on i was installing service pack 2 and it kept hanging up on the startup then i found out i had a virus in my harddrive nimda my partition was a NTFS now every time i try o install something on my drive it comes up (BOOT SECTOR VIRUS continue Y/N?)
i think i have a damaged boot sector how can i fix it please im useing a seagate 30 gig HHD and a GA-6VXDC7 dual prossesor motherbord by gigabyte my OS is windows 2000 pro

Boot to a 98 floppy disk and try running FDISK /mbr at a command prompt. You will have to recreate your partition table, reformat the drives, and start from scratch again but it should blow away the virus.

I have computer here and it has a virus in the Boot Sector..... At least i think it does, either that or it could be the bios..I think the bios is screwed up because when i try to change something in the bios and i save and exit it will hang until i reset the CMOS or hold down insert...But i think theres a virus in the boot sector because while iam in windows everything will be really laggie (About 2 min lagg)....So i need some Help Please Help :)
