Hi I am having some strange problems with my computer this only happens when I turn the computer on for the first time in the day what happens is it boots with no picture on the monitor and then I reboot it 4 or 5 times then I can get in to windows and it boots normally and any other time after that first day boot it works fine shutting it down and rebooting just not the first try and I am thinking this is a power supply problem because the case I got was cheap like $70.00 and it came with a power supply that is questionable to say the least because I never had any boot problems before till now. My money is limited so any ideas of the most cheap solution to fix this problem? and no its not the msblast virus or what ever I run virus scans all time and update my dat files!

Does it loose the display when it boots into windows or does it never have a display.

If no display only in windows try booting to safe mode "F8 when booting"

If no display ever try removing the video card and cleaning the slot with alcohol and reseating the card.

Did you try turning the monitor off and on to see if they display would come back? Older HP monitors were very bad about this.

Do you hear the hard drive spinning up when you power on? What kind of hard drive is it?
