The Cd rom was changed to the first boot device in the bios settings. The floppy disk was the boot disk. In the bios settings it knows that there is a cd rom there as it names is. But then when it tries to boot from floppy i get the message - Boot from cd - no emulation
Still not quite clear as to which is booting first. You say you have it set to boot from CD first but then you say it tries to boot from the floppy. Are you trying to boot from a floppy or a CD?
The No Emulation message has to do with how the CD's boot information was created. Emulation is simply how the CD boot sector was created. If you have ever created a bootable CD and used a floppy for the boot info, you will notice that when the CD is booted from, it will say something like "1.44 floppy emulation"

Can you boot the cd in another system? This will test the cd. Can you swap the cdrom drive with another? This will test the cdrom drive.

I am having the same problem as Graeme when I try to boot from a Windows 2000 CD. I am using an ASUS motherboard but have had this problem with Aopen Motherboards too. I was able to boot from a Windows NT 4.0 CD. So I installed Win NT 4.0 and then upgraded to Windows 2000. It is a pain to have to do that but it is the only solution I have been able to come up with yet.
