Hi all.
I need to reformat my sole hard drive (SCSI) and install Windows 2000 on it. I have a boot floppy that installs ATA CD-ROM support and has ASPI drivers on it. But I can't find a reference anywhere that shows how to assign a drive letter to the SCSI hard drive.
The controller is an Adaptec 19160.
Thanks for any info.

You have several options. And I'm sure you get them all thrown at you.
I go fo simple (first) then get more complex. If your CD-Rom is IDE or SCSI you can boot FROM the CD (select it as your first Boot device in the BIOS).
When the PC Boots, it well run the CD and start the, "Windows is inspecting your Hardware". You do not need to add any additioanl drivers with F6 the 19160 is natively supported.
Within the Windows 2000 Setup you can DELETE the existing drive structure and re-format and install.
This is the quickest way. The other way would be to make 4 setup Disk to isntall windows 2000 (if for some reason you can't boot from CD). The windows 2000 CD has the makeboot driectory to make the 4 floppies. Then you boot with Disk1, Disk2, etc. This is a second Option. And delete the existing Hard Drive paritions, re-format, install.
Then you can get really complex and use a BOOT disk with SCSI APSI drivers, and assign them to the Hard Drives. This is NOT required. If you use either of the first two
