If you can get your hands on a DOS boot disk, or a Windows 98 rescue disk, run FDISK, and delete all the partitions that way. You can do it using the Windows 2000 boot disks too. When you go through setup it will ask you what partition you want to place the installation, on that screen their will be menu options to delete the partitions. I would still just use a DOS boot disk though with FDISK and FORMAT on it, it will be faster. If you don't have one go to http://www.bootdisk.com/

The various options for removing W2K are covered here:

http://www.budja.com/w2k/uninstall_w2k.html

A DOS/'9x boot-disk will allow you to remove W2K - within certain constraints; i.e.

If W2K has ntfs areas in the Extended partition then Fdisk will not remove it; either W2K setup (create/delete partitions option will do it) or the delpart.exe util.

You have the 4 W2K setup floppies, and you have the CD, so you have all you need to remove W2K entirely, afterwhich use '98 boot-disk to install '98.

Again checkout the link I've posted.
