Hi.
Where to start??
Queston first. I got non-bootable win2000 CD wišth 4 boot diskettes. How can i make it bootable CD?

now problem.
My hdd got 250gb. Its separated in 2 partitions. c=46gb d=186gb. Both fat32.
I had win2000 instaled. It worked great for 10 days since last format (formated cos of malware) Then it sudenly didnt start, only empty screen. I inserted 98 startup and did chkdisk and it was reporting some strange files in system32/ It couldnt fix, so i formated and instaled again. And it was ok. Till next day when i turned pc on. Same thing again. I left it and called guy to look. But yesterday i needed to i nstall winj cos of emergent job. And to save time i inserted xp. For now is all ok, but now i got c: as ntfs and xp, both i dont want to use.
Do u have any ideas what happened, why and what to do so it not happen again?
Also, How to remove xp and install 2000?
TIA

nLite can help you create a custom boot CD, also include Service Pack 4 (needed to support your hard drive)

You can delete/create/format during W2K install, if you wish to cleanse the hard drive then KILLDISK will suffice:

Win2000 needs at least SP3 applied in order to be 48 bit LBA compliant. Even then you need to modify the registry to enable bigLBA. If your copy of Win2000 doesn't include at least SP3 them you will need to slipstream the SPs into the CD in order to install to a partition larger than 127GB.

Additionally, verify that your MBoard supports 48 bit LBA. You can do that by watching the POST screens at startup. Your harddrive should be identified on the screen by the model number. The model number should include 250 somewhere in the model. If your MBoard is not compliant you will probably need to install a PCI based add in controller card. See the link below for more information on 48 bit LBA compliance. See the link to another post here on the same issue. Follow the links there for a controller card. Also a link to MSKB on 48 bit and the registry hack. Fourth link is to an excellent site on slipstreaming Win2000.
