Comment:

I have an onboard Crystal WDM soundcard, but since this caused problems with Windows 2000, i bought a cheap Sound Maker Value 4.1 PCI card. Whilst i have moved a jumper to a new pin to disable the onboard sound (the onboard sound cannot be disabled in the BIOS: Apricot 12.03) i get a blue screen with the message:
*** Hardware Malfunction
Call your hardware vendor for support
NMI: Parity Check / Memory Parity Error
*** The system has halted *
when i restart after installing the new card's drivers and i have to go into Safe Mode to uninstall it so i can start Windows. Please help as internal beeps can wear a man down.
Thanks
Ed
