Perhaps a simple question, but this has me confused. Someone mentioned to me to fix a particular issue was to "blow away a users profile so a new one would be created". Is this as simple as going into system icon in control panel, user profiles tab and deleting the users profile? and then logging of and back on so it can be recreated? anything else that needs to be done to perform this task. Probably a no-brainer but I am braindead today.

Yes, you can "blow away a users profile" that way but depending on what the problem is, that might be an overkill. If you do delete the profile, make sure you first backup their documents otherwise you'll loose them as well. Using this method to remove the profile, deletes their entire directory.
