I should know this...
W2K Server on NTFS...I need to rebuild...
I want to fdisk and start all over due to a corrupted previous installation...Every time I try to re-install it won't take the product key...
And, yes...I have original, (new) purchased W2K Server in orig boxing and with correct product key...
But it seems that the original install, with the product key correct, is not allowing me to rebuild as it always rejects due to incorrect product key...
So I just want to blow everything away and start clean...
Thanx
Steve

You can start with the set of server boot disks (4 of them) or you may be able to boot to the cd and start setup from there. Early in the install you are given the option to create/delete any or all partitions.

Dude, thanx...but that is part of the problems...I neglected to mention in my first post...
When I boot off the cd it wants to finish the previous installation and doesn't give me the option to blow away the partition and reformat...
So I'm stuck with a partial installation, that I can't seem to get rid of, and I can't boot off the CD and get rid of it...
Haven't tried the 4 floppies yet, as I suspect it will do the same thing as the CD, want to finish the privious install...
Gonna try a boot disk with NTBOOT etc, stick Delpart on it and see if that works...
Open to other ideas...
Thanx
Steve

Good Luck. :o)
If all still fails, remember your boot friend 'Win98 Startup Disk'!
FDISK-delete everything in the partition table. -> FORMAT /u

Search using www.google.com for delpart.exe and copy it onto a Win98 boot disc. Boot the system from that and use delpart.exe to remove any NTFS partitions.

Just go into your bios settings and take the hard drive out of the boot list, this will force the computer to boot from the cd first. Then start the install over again but dont forget to change the settings back after the computer reboots. This should solve your problem. if not feel free to mail me.

Fdisk (run from '98 bootdisk) will/should delete any ntfs partition that is a Primary partition; but will not remove ntfs extended areas.
The delpart util (as already suggested by other above) should do the job.
Boot from a DOS/'9x bootdisk, change floppies at the a:>\ prompt; run util. You can also add the util to your bootdisk and avoid a disk change?
delpart is around variously; e.g.
