Comment:

I run a web based program.
Often, when I try to login, I get a website that I don't want: http://{sitename}/index.php.
Sometimes I delete cookies & files & reboot to make it work. Other times it won't work at all.
Is there a way to block this web site from coming up in place of the name I type????

Sounds like you may have had a browser hijack. I'd install "Hijack this" and see what the results are.

or:

0.0.0.0 sitename.ext

And you can add an entry for the site you DIO want.

First get it's IP:

ping iwantthis.com

and into HOSTS put:

123.456.789.123 iwantthis.com

If at first you don't succeed, you're about average.
