On monday I returned to work after a weeks holiday to discover that the Internet Explorer cannot access any web pages. I am connected by LAN and networked to 3 other computers. I can still access the other computers though (all of these can still access the internet).
I was also told that last week Norton found the Blaster worm on my computer. I did the removal instructions but, msblast.exe was not running.
How can I fix this problem?
There is also the possibility that someone played withthe settings on my computer and that may be the problem
Thanks

arryn,
When i ran the FIXBLAST.exe last week on my brothers PC (running WIN 2000), it couldnt locate the MSBLAST virus up even tho it was obvious by the symptoms that it WAS actually on the system.
I resolved the problem by running the fix provided by microsoft (available from links on the main microsoft.com site, cant remember the exact URL but the file is called Windows2000-KB823980-x86-ENU.exe so do a search) and then applying SP4 and a firewall. That was 5 days ago and the PC has been fine since.
I actually feel like i should thank this virus, because of it i've downloaded and run various tools like spybot and adaware and Zone Alarms, and have found so much spyware and have managed to block out crap and pings from so many hackers and spam-servers that its improved the performance of my PC greatly.
Every cloud.......
