I just got a new laptop and wanted to dual boot windows 2000 and xp pro. so i delete partitions, repartition, format, and install 2000 then windows xp pro. when i go into 2000 its a VGA display because i hadn't yet loaded My mobility x600 drivers in yet, so i do that, restart and then it boots into black. nothing. it lets me in VGA mode only. i have installed the orginal drivers first then loaded Omega drivers and both didn't work. it won't go over 256 color or it refreshes and the screen is black. The system is a Gateway MX7515 with an AMD mobile 64 Athlon 4000+ 2.6Ghz and The graphics card is A pci-express ATI Mobility Radeon X600 with 128 DDR ram (64 discrete, 64 system). can someone please help!!!

Try FN+F4 until you see the display on your LCD.

No that didn't work, thanks for suggesting it though.

I really dont want to repair install 2000 and then xp to see that my display still doesn't work. Has anybody that has a Gateway MX7515 laptop ever had any issues with windows 2000 and display. Thanks for your help

I forgot to mention that i have successfully put 2000 on a Gateway MX520 which has about the same specs with absolutly no problems. Would and AMD processor have anything to do with it? the MX520 has a Pentium IV in it
