We have messed up and have locked even the administrator out of a server and we need a copy of NTRIGHTS.exe to fix this. Does anyone have a link to this file? It doesn't matter if it is a pay download as long as we get it!!!! Does anyone know how any other way to override Win2000 security once EVERYONE is locked out?!! Please help if you have any ideas. Thanks alot!

Locked out how? Lock out from logging on as in forgotten password or locked out of a file with NTFS file permissions. If you lost the password, do a search on this site for "lost administrator password" and you'll get tons on hits. If you locked out the administrator from a file using NTFS file permissions relax, you can't do it. Just take ownership of the file and give the administrator permission. You may get an 'access denied' message but that just means you can't view the file. Don't stop there. You can still change the permissions so you can have access to the file. Go to the Security tab and give yourself permission. If that fails, click on the Advanced button and then click on the Ownership tab and take ownership. Once you have ownership you can then change the permissions. Again, you can't lock the Administrator out of a file.

Good luck.

I think u have denied access for de everyone group to logon locally. u can recover this by going to dos and typing the following.

ntrights -u -r +r
usage: -u xxx User/Group
-r xxx revokes the xxx right
+r xxx grants the xxx right
some valid NTRights are:
SetSystemtimePrivilege
SetShutdownPrivilege
SetServiceLogonRight
SetInteractiveLogonRight
SetNetworkLogonRight
(ntrights is on your NT resource Kit or download from internet)
and I think u should try the logonrights
