I have a problem with Win2k. When Windows is almost done booting up, I get a blue-screen error: BAD_POOL_CALLER. It also happens when I'm just using Windows. I think it might have something to do with Easy CD Creator, because it started happening jsut after I installed it. Can anyone please help me?

BTW, I read a few old posts about this saying it could be caused by TI Software, ASPI layer, ZoneAlarm, and DrectX 8. I have all of these installed, but I can't just remove them, so I would really appreciate any help.

As you know your system best, check the Microsoft Knowledge base on the microsoft site. I put in BAD_POOL_CALLER in the search and it came up with a bunch of links.

Hi!
I had the same problem but I found
out something else.
Look in your system directories for
winspool.drv. I had two different
versions from 1999 and 2001. Then I
replaced the version from 1999 to
the newer one. Since now I never had
BAD_POOL_CALLER errors again.

It must be hardware or BIOS related. I get this error just by trying to install Windows 2000 Server. So far I haven't tried anything to solve it.

I get the same error message. I have Easy CD creator 4.0 on 3 different systems, and direct X 8.0 etc... basically all three are totally up to date from microsoft... and it seemed to start happening right after I did a critical update (one of the service roll-ups) I can't seem to find anything out that specifically applies to my machine, that's different now than it was before it started crashing. and it seems to be mostly random, but only when the system is working hard. As for hardware, one's a dell laptop, one's an HP Visualize FX workstation, and one's an ASUS MB with a P4.... so it's all different.

I got that same message after I updated my network settings. (IP/Gateway/etc). and after i installed a mouse. (PS2)

I unplugged the cable from the NIC and now she starts... These same NICs have been in this system for 2 years.
