bad upload speed for Lan

hi have a dual boot win 98/2000. i cant upload to fellow lan uers at good speed, the speed which i get is 1-7 Kbps whereas download speed is 1 Mbps.before i used to get good speed. i thought its my O.s prob so i formatted and reinstalled.but same any sugesstion. is it my lan card problem pls help me

OK first of all check you nic speed settings if it is set to auto try to put it on 100mbps manualy and check out again, if it is not working ask if some of the others lan users have same issue if the answer is yes then the problem is not with you, if only you have the problem try to update yor nic drivers. hi whats nic speed and how to change settings for that. other fellow lan uers are getting 1- 6 Mbps speed so u can c its on my side only so please tell me how to change nic settings

OK Try to download latest drivers for netwok adapter and install them. If you get no result try to borrow from someone other card and try the speed before bying new one. If you have server at your network there is posibility of shaping from the sysadmin.
