i have a problem where i installed win service pack 3 and then it started to give me all these messages but i got past that and when i turned my comp off and turned it back on it would get to the load up screen and just keep restarting ok i put in the win 2000 pro cd tried to fix it i couldnt so i thought to install a new win2000pro and just use that but i fixed it and can now use the win200pro i was using with all my programs and what not but now i have two win2000pro's on my comp and its eating alot of space up.i use the one with all my programs but i want to get rid of the other one. i looked at some of the other topics and some said like backup boot.ini before you do anything HOW WOULD I DO THAT?,and the boot loader look like this
[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional" /fastdetect
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT="Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional" /fastdetect
WHAT SHOULD I DO AND WHAT SHOULD I ERASE SO THAT THE WIN2000PRO COPY THAT I DONT WONT WILL BE GONE AND MY SPACE WILL BE FREE'D UP AND WHATEVER ELSE I NEED TO DO?
thanks

copy the boot.ini to a disk.

[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional" /fastdetect

multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT="Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional" /fastdetect

erase the last command line, windows2000 setup isn't taking space at all if i read your boot.ini because you tried to install it on the same partition. Look in the temp directory if there is space taken for the installation. But as it looks for now you didnt install win2000 at all only the setup beginning.
