Hi. I am running Windows 2000 Pro SP4 and I have a problem the computer rebooting automatically constantly. The computer starts fine in Safe Mode and there are no conflicts or doubled up entries in Device manager. In normal mode it crashes on the Windows splash screen with a Blue screen of death (Unexpected_kernel_mode_trap ) flashes up for a split second however I cannot pause the message to copy all the information. I have tried booting into safe mode and going into System Advanced Properties and Unticking the Automatically reboot at startup option but this did not make any difference. I tried running a repair but this also failed. I did a bootlog start and checked the text file but could not get any hints. I ran Msconfig and disabled everything loading at startup and all the services however it still rebooted. I ran a chkdisk but it said there were no errors. I ran a full virus scan but there were no viruses. I also ran a memory check and there were no errors.
It seems like it must be a driver problem but am mot sure which one. I tried installing a new boot.ini , ntldr , ntdetect.com and ntoskrnl.exe but this did not help.
Are there any ways of getting all the information from the Blue screen at startup to give me some more clues??????

Go to control panel and then double click on system. go to advance tab and then go to setting at the bottom where it says startup and recovery. Deselect automatically restart at the bottom and it should give you time to copy down the error message.
