Is it possible to run a report showing when a user logs in and logs out in Windows 2000 server and Windows NT4.0? I am trying to determine when a user comes into work and leaves. I need to have the report show username and login time and logout time.

Yes, you can audit as well as restrict log on hours. Like NT, Win2K’s default audit policy disables each audit category, so the security log is empty on a freshly installed system. Unlike NT, you don't use User Manager to enable auditing in Win2K. In fact, User Manager doesn’t work in Win2K domains. Instead, you use the Active Directory (AD) Group Policy to enable auditing. You will want to Audit account logon events.
