I am having a problem with my ati xpert 2000 AGP Card. I works fine In Win NT 4, but when I upgrade to Win 2K Pro it no longer works. I get a Input/Output range problem saying that I/O range E000-E0FF not avialable and it does not let me change anything.
The systme I am running is:
AMD K6-3 400
Aopen AX59Pro MB (Bios Award R2.33)
Via chipset with the lastest 4in1 drivers.
I installed the lastest drivers from ATI, directx 8.1 and service pack 2. What can I do?

I am Using an ATI Xpert 2000 in Win2k, it works just fine. Are you upgrading from NT4 or doing a full install of Windows? I did a fresh install and it works great

Windows 2000 really requires Windows 2000 drivers. It should have installed its own when you upgraded, however a lot of the settings are retained in the registry, such as Memory addresses, interrupts, etc. A quick solution would be to use the Add/Remove Hardware applet in the control panel to remove everything to do with the display drivers: ie. AGP and AGP bridges; Graphics drivers and Monitor drivers. If you have multiple instances it will also reduce the risk of old settings being used if you remove them using this applet (you can't see ghost devices in device manager). Once you've removed them all (making sure, that before-hand you have got hold of the latest driectX and display drivers) restart your PC and it will atempt to reinstall the drivers.

Also, check in the BIOS for any settings to assign address ranges to AGP and PCI, check the interrupts and so-forth. It's not too important, as Windows 2000 will probably ignore all this anyway (as it has direct access to the hardware and doesn't have to rely on the BIOS for everything like Win9x).

OK, I'm gibbering now, so I'll leave ya to it.

Mike

I removed everything and reinstalled it with no luck. Still the same problem. The Bios setting lock fine. When I go to the properties of the video card in device manager it reads "This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use (code 12)", but it was working great in NT before I did the upgrade
