Hi! My WD Caviar 80GB with 8MB cache is only running at ata 33 (or so says the screen after the POST with all the tables). I only get a PCMark 2002 or 1083, so I believe it. The HD is set to "single" (and is the only one) on the Primary IDE with a 80-pin cable. Is there any way to change the ata to faster?

well, there are several prerequisites for ATA 100 to function. Look at Western Digitals White Paper. It explains the requirements and Modes.
Page 4 is a table showing the DMA modes and Cable required and Page 5 shows All mandatory prerequisites in order for ATA 100 to function.
