Help!!
New Pc works fine but ......
Asus A7V333
Maxtor UDMA 133 20 gb * 2
Raid 0
256 Mb PC 2100 DDR Ram
ATI Radeon 8500
Philips 2400 CDRW
Cooler master CPU cooler Fan
AMD 1.8 GHZ
SoundBlaster LIVE 5.1
OS Win2000Pro
Now it all works a treat BUT the 12 volt DC current shos up under asus Probe runing at 13.1X Volt at all time ???
I am pretty sure if i keep up this a bit ;longer my new pc will melt so
PLEASE someone tell me woot to do ..
and please I have though about driver updates and Bios They are all up to date .
The question is why and woot uses so much power on the 12 volt current to make it run that high .
another intresting isssue in the bios under monitor the 12 volt current seems to steady run around 12.6X
So i wonder if it s the asus Probe software thats &^&$ so i got the lates version but u guessed it no luck the same result 13.1X Volt .
Any 1 with any thoughts ...
Thanks for your processing power :O)

I see the same value for the 12V line . average is 13.189V peek goes up to 13.312V.

So this seems not to be a real problem , just a bad 12V probe on the motherboard.

Hey Ive had an a7v333 for 3 months now. Asus probe would allways let me know when my voltage would reach 13.182. I didnt think that was a problem untill just recently when i had installed a back up secondaru drive. That burned out, so i installed another same thing happened, also an internal zip drive and a brand new dvd rom drive burnt out also. was i pissed off or what? so know I dont know how long my new drive will last??Ive tried three different power supply units one them registers 13.992 it off the scale. Ive been told by shop tech this is safe as some athlon motherboards run upto 14 and 16 volts.Yet Ive also been told By a anetwork technician at my uni the the voltage should not run over 12 volts maybe 12.1 is ok but the 13 plus is dangerous. So who is right I ve got four bunt drives, and I cant afford to replace them and now im behind in my msc project work....Can anyone shed some light on safe voltage settings.....

I've got an Asus A7v333 with an XP 2000+. Asus Probe and PC Monitor show it going over 13V quite often. I've tried three, count 'em, three different power supplies with same result (all high quality: Antec 433W, Antec 400W, Sparkle 400W.) I even sent the board back to where I bought it thinking it was faulty. They sent me a new one and I had the same voltage issue. I've read several reviews of this board and haven't seen anything mentioned regarding this problem, but one review included screen shots of Asus Probe -- just for the heck of it I checked out their voltage reading in the screenshot and it was around 12.9. So far, my CD-ROM drive runs strangely -- always switching speeds and causing noticeable performance problems. The board might be able to handle these fluctuations, but peripherals cannot. I think this is a big problem.

I have an Athlon 2000XP
256MB PC2700
GF4 Ti4400
1 DVD Rom
1 CD/RW
1 15GB Hard Drive
1 40GB hard Drive
Internal Modem
SBpro Soundcard
Floppy Drive
EverCool Cpu fan with Copper Heatsink
Codegen 300W PSU 12V 13A
Full Tower "Super Power" Case with 1 additional Case Fan

Asus Probe v2.17.00 shows my +12v to be 12.768v Peaking at 12.96v.
I have had no problems.

You could check your +12v PSU OUTPUT going to your MOBO to see what it IS using a MULTIMETER. (set to DC of course).
WARNING!!!! Don't attempt this if you don't know what your doing.
