Comment:

hi, i downloaded and installed the win2k SP4 from the microsoft update site yesterday, wooohoooo windows can now replace its own system files in a diskcheck :))

Windows definitely seems to boot a little quicker too, and shutting down used to take an eternity with sp3 (stuck at saving settings for at least 2-3mins), and now its fixed :), shutting down/restarting now takes about 10 seconds :)))

Just one thing puzzling me though, what is this new screen on startup just after applying network settings or just before it says,
'Applying security policy'
I've looked around the m-soft site but couldn't find anything about it??
its definitely new, whats it all about???

I think it always goes throug the applying security policy. It was just so fast before you never noticed. But now something has made it slower.

I too, a week after installing sp4 have noticed a long time with the 'applying security policy' . Today, it won't go past it, it's just stuck there. Hence, I'm on my kids puter looking for fixes.. Safe mode, nuttin works, just sits there applying it's policies....Any fixes, ideas? :/
