I have recently upgraded my workstation to Windows 2000 Professional. Since then I have had problems printing to a postscript printer on the network. The symptom is large areas of solid black on the printout. On the Windows 2000 Printer Test Page the header (Windows 2000 logo and the large font text "Windows 2000 Printer Test Page" come out properly. That is followed by 3/4" of white space. The rest of the page is solid black with white "cutouts" where the text would be (not reversed text, white boxes). Note that the printer prints just fine from other computers on the network (mine is the only Windows 2000 machine, others are NT server and workstations as well as Win 95 and Win 98 machines). Note also that my Windows 2000 workstation prints correctly to an HP LaserJet printer (non-postscript) on the network (unfortunately, that printer is on the other side of the building while the Apple LaserWriter is right next to me).
The printer is an Apple LaserWriter II NT-A. The postscript driver is Apple LaserWriter II NT v47.0 (This was installed by Windows during the upgrade and is the same driver used by other computers on the network). The print processor is set to winprint and the Default Datatype is set to RAW. (This also matches the other computers).
I have tried deleting reinstalling the printer (several time) but to no avail. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks,
Jim

Problem Solved.
I downloaded the LaserWriter printer driver for Windows NT from http://asu.info.apple.com/ This is a search page for downloads. I used the search term "LaserWriter and Windows and NT" (without the quotes). This yielded one hit: Apple LaserWriter Driver for Windows NT. I downloaded the file (LWNT_10.ZIP) and unzipped it into a temporary directory. It unzips into 3 directories labeled Disk1, Disk2 and Disk3.
I installed the software using the setup program in the Disk1 directory. No joy - I still was getting black test pages. Undaunted, I then tried opening the properties sheet for the printer and told it to install a new driver (Advanced tab | New Driver Button | Have Disk Button). Tell it to browse for the new driver. The .inf file is in the Disk2 directory. When it yells about nor finding pscript.dll, tell it to look in the Disk2\i386 directory. Finally, click the Apply button. I tried printing a test page again and Voila! it printed correctly.
