Hi there!
I think I've searched the whole Forum for this problem, nothing found about that.Evertime, when I would like to start the booting sequence, it causes an errormessage like this (translated):
"SYSTEM.SAV is missing/corrupt. Try to ... blah..blah"
So by now I am actually in the repair console and I found some files, which probably helping me to repair this file.
G:\WINNT\REPAIR\REGBACK\NTUSER.DAT
G:\WINNT\REPAIR\REGBACK\SAM.
G:\WINNT\REPAIR\REGBACK\SECURITY.
G:\WINNT\REPAIR\REGBACK\software.
G:\WINNT\REPAIR\REGBACK\system.
G:\WINNT\REPAIR\REGBACK\UserClass.datSomeone told me that I should use the expand-utility (somehow, I do know the correct command).
What I have tried is following:
- Used the automatic repair fm bootCD -> no effects.
- Used safe mode boot option -> no effects
- Used last known working boot up -> no effectsSo then ... I do see a blinking cursor by now and it's waiting of my command ....
Any help would be appreciated.
Greetings,
Chris.

Did you ever find a solution to this problem? If so, could you let me in on it, I'm currently having this issue! Thanks.

I had the same problem. Here's how I got it to work.
I had my server on non ntfs partition. I went to the /winnt/system32/config and renamed system.sav to system.bak and renamed system.alt (I am guessing is a backup) to system.sav after I booted up normally. If your server is on NTFS goto the recovery console and it should work.
Bill
