I recently upgraded to a 1.2GHz AMD Thnderbird, new mobo, and DDR Ram. I also installed Win2k over Win98. After the instalation everything was was fine for about five minutes after, then it froze after I increased the screan resolution. Then it would freez right after login where it says "loading personal settings". It worked fine in safe mode, but would freez every time loading windows in normal mode. I remover the AGP ATI All in Wonder Pro Graphics Card and put in an old Matrox Millenium PCI Graphics card and it loaded fine. Now everything works great without the ATI AGP Card. Are there known issues with New AMD, Win2k, and/or AGP, or any combination. Any responses are appriciated. Thanks

All in Wonder is what I have, the installed drivers on 98 that you upgraded are not what you need, go to www.ati.com and download the W2k drivers, and You're garanteed a happy life ever after.

there are several patches for agp usage with win2k available at AMD's website. try this:
http://www.amd.com/products/cpg/bin/
also you might want to check out ATI's website for win2k drivers...i know my AIW radeon wouldn't work until i installed the windows 2000 drivers. hope this helps

I installed the 2000 drivers for the AIW and the AGP miniport driver for win2000 and I still freeze at login.

-Have you installed the latest chipset-
drivers?-Try to download & install this:
http://www.amd.com/products/cpg/athlon-duron/amd_win2k_patch.html
Hope, I could help you

The problem was the ATI Win2k Display drivers. Aparently there are a few release of this driver. Only the newest one (wich is not supported yet) works with my system. The one I downloaded from ATI.com was not the newest release. Thanks for all your help.
Luke
