Does anyone know of any free adware remover programs other than Ad-aware? They all advertise as being free but they're not. It is quite aggravating to go through the process of downloading and scanning your system only to find you must purchase in order to remove. I am not interested in a program that scans for free but charges to remove. Thanks, Tom

AdAware is free; but Ad-Aware/Ad Aware is not free... A blatant case of trying to con the unwary??? "free" AdAware (personal): http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/ Also run ccleaner Cccleaner.com) Spybot and the M$ freebie util (it gets good reports...) http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx cwshredder is another useful item; helps defeat some/most homepage highjackers (but not necessarily all).
