Comment:

Windows 2000 Server cannot load my administrative profile anymore, cause by the following message i received at the system event viewer:
"The browser service has failed to retrieve the backup list too many times on transport \Device\NetBT_Tcpip_{6163DB14-FD9D-4C25-98EA-3F3A3886D90C}. The backup browser is stopping." This message was followed by:
"A SAP announcement was sent over \Device\NwlnkIpx which is configured for multiple networks, but no internal network is configured. This may prevent machines on some networks from locating the advertised service."
And also "The master browser has received a server announcement from the computer AUTOGARA-6D3620 that believes that it is the master browser for the domain on transport NwlnkNb. The master browser is stopping or an election is being forced."

The result is that i'm starting windows now without my administrative profile, which keep saying that ii might be corrupted, and instead i'm using any temporary profile!

Could you, please explain me, how to restore my initial profile! Thank you so much!

None of these messages will prevent you from loading your Admin profile.

All of these messages are from a misconfigured network.

The first one is related to browsing the network. This server can't seem to communicate with the pc/server that has the list.
The sap error means you need to put in a network id for the ipx/spx protocol properties [all 0's is just fine]
The last looks like a XP pc that is competing for master browser with the server. Set browse master to disabled on the xp pc under ms client properties.

You did make someone a member of the admins group rights??? Logon under that account if you suspect the admin profile is corrupt.
